RRMC names Kelly Watson Chief Nursing Officer | Vermont Business Magazine

Vermont Business Magazine Rutland Regional Medical Center has announced Kelly Watson, DNP, MHA, RN, FACHE, as the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Watson was previously the CNO for UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital, a 93-bed hospital located in Colorado.

Watson holds a doctorate in nursing practice from Regis University as well as a BSN and a master's degree in healthcare administration.

“Kelly’s extensive experience in expanding and developing hospital service lines, quality improvement initiatives, and building highly effective teams are extremely valuable in her position,” said Claudio Fort, President and CEO of Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Watson was drawn to the area by Rutland’s strong sense of community, which is something that is important to her entire family. She and her husband, along with their three young boys, have recently purchased a home and are looking forward to becoming part of the greater Rutland community.

Watson is also looking forward to encouraging and nurturing a positive and effective professional workforce.

Watson’s fresh perspective and extensive and varied experiences will greatly benefit Rutland Regional patients as well as hospital staff and providers. She has as passion for leading organizations toward growth while ensuring safe, quality, and affordable healthcare for all populations of patients.

“I very much value and respect tradition,” said Watson. “I also encourage and support innovation in order to help move our workforce and our care delivery forward.”

As CNO, Watson will oversee a nursing workforce of over 1100 licensed APRNs, RNs, LNAs and LPNs.
